Key Points:

• SAT or ACT scores are currently optional at Truman State University due to test-optional policies, though submitting scores can enhance an application.
• Scores are evaluated as part of a holistic review process, alongside academic performance and other achievements, rather than strict cutoffs.
• Truman does practice superscoring for the SAT, combining the highest section scores from multiple test dates to create the best possible composite score.
• Alternatives such as AP or IB test scores may be considered for placement or credit but do not replace SAT scores in admissions if submitted.
• For competitive admission to Truman State University, applicants are encouraged to aim for an SAT score of 1200 or higher to align with or exceed the average of admitted students.
