Offer Description
Specific skills in applying circular economy principles for protein recovery including biologically active compounds from by-products processing and various vegetal resources (i.e. pseudocereals, aquatic plants, mushrooms), specific skills in food science and engineering, statistical data processing, mathematical models for the optimization and validation of experimental designs, advanced skills in quantification of biologically active compounds, advanced skills in minimal processing technologies and microencapsulation of biologically active compounds; characterization of the resulting ingredients, innovation skills for new products development of foods with added value, skills in writing scientific papers, and nationa/ international patents, capacity to disseminate results.

Skills/Qualifications
Undergraduate university studies, completed with a bachelor’s degree in the field of Food Engineering; holder of a master’s degree; doctoral candidate.
Specific competencies in applying circular economy principles for the recovery of biologically active protein compounds from processing by-products; protein analysis and separation; expertise in food science and engineering; statistical data processing; application of mathematical models for the optimization and validation of experimental designs; advanced skills in evaluating digestibility and quantifying biologically active compounds; advanced expertise in processing technologies, the microencapsulation of biologically active compounds, and the characterization of the resulting ingredients; innovation capabilities through knowledge related to the development of new, value-added products; proficiency in drafting scientific articles and international patents; and the ability to disseminate research results.

- Participation as team member at min. one (1) nationally/ European research funded project.
- Participation in student scientific sessions: min. 2 instances of participation.
- Awards: at least 1 award at national/international research and innovation events

Eligibility criteria
To be eligible for this fixed-term research position, candidates must meet the general conditions established by Law No. 53/2003 – Romanian Labour Code, republished with subsequent amendments, and the specific provisions of Article 542 (1) and (2) of the Government Emergency Ordinance No. 57/2019 on the Administrative Code, with subsequent amendments and completions:
- hold Romanian citizenship, or citizenship of another European Union Member State, a State of the European Economic Area (EEA), or the Swiss Confederation;
- have proficiency in the Romanian language, both written and spoken;
- possess full working capacity according to the provisions of the Labour Code;
- have a state of health appropriate for the position, attested by a medical certificate issued by the family doctor or an authorized medical institution;
- meet the educational, experience, and specific requirements established for the position;
- have no final criminal convictions for offences against national security, public authority, humanity, corruption, service-related or justice-related crimes, or other intentional offences incompatible with the duties of the position, except in cases of rehabilitation;
- are not subject to complementary penalties prohibiting the exercise of the profession or activity related to the position;
- have not committed offences listed under Article 1(2) of Law No. 118/2019 regarding the National Automated Register of persons who have committed sexual or exploitation-related crimes, or crimes against minors.
