a) one senior assistant, scientific branch of public health, at the Department of Social Medicine and Epidemiology, Faculty of Medicine in Rijeka, for a fixed term of up to four years, full-time.

Applicants to the call must meet the requirements prescribed by the National University, Scientific and Artistic Criteria of the National Council for Higher Education, Science and Technological Development (Official Gazette of the Republic of Croatia No. 42/2026 of 21 April 2026), the Ordinance on Additional Requirements for the Appointment to Scientific-Teaching Positions in the Area of Biomedicine and Health of the Faculty of Medicine in Rijeka (Ref. No. 007-05/22-01/07, Doc. No. 2170-24-01-22-1 of 18 October 2022 and Ref. No. 007-06/24-02/373, Doc. No. 2170-1-42-01-24-1 of 9 July 2024) as well as the Decision on Changes and Additions to the Ordinance on Additional Requirements for the Appointment to Scientific-Teaching Positions in the Area of Biomedicine and Health of the Faculty of Medicine in Rijeka (Ref. No. 007-06/26-02/580, Doc. No. 2170-1-42-01-26-1 of 8 September 2026).

Specific Requirements

Applicants for appointment to an associate position must enclose the following with their signed application:

• CV,
• copy of the diploma or a certificate of completion of the study programme,
• medical fitness certificate issued by an authorised occupational health physician.

Applicants applying under items A.1. a) must submit evidence of employment at the teaching base.

Applications may be submitted by persons of either sex (Article 13(2) of the Gender Equality Act, Official Gazette of the Republic of Croatia Nos. 82/08, 69/17).

By applying to this call, applicants consent to the collection and processing of all their personal data contained in the application documents for the purpose of the application process, in accordance with the regulations governing the protection of personal data.

Applicants entitled to priority in employment under special regulations must indicate this right in their application and enclose all evidence required by the special regulations proving their eligibility for this right. Such applicants shall have priority in employment over other applicants, provided that they meet the same conditions. Applicants entitled to priority employment under the Act on Croatian Homeland War Veterans and Their Family Members and the Act on Civilian Homeland War Victims must indicate this right in their application and enclose evidence proving that they meet the prescribed requirements.

Applicants whose native language is not Croatian must submit proof of Croatian language proficiency at B2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Applicants who completed their education outside the Republic of Croatia must submit an opinion of the competent authority on the recognition of a foreign professional qualification or proof that the recognition procedure has been initiated.

Before making a decision, the Faculty reserves the right to assess the knowledge and skills of applicants who submit their applications on time and in due form and meet the formal requirements of the call, by means of tests and/or interviews. Applicants shall be notified in due time of the testing and/or interviews. If an applicant fails to attend a test and/or interview, they shall be considered to have withdrawn their application. The Faculty reserves the right to partially or fully cancel the call for applications and not appoint any applicant, without providing specific reasons.

The deadline for submitting applications is 30 days from the date of publication of the call for applications. Applications shall be submitted by e-mail to pisarnica@medri.uniri.hr.

Late and incomplete applications will not be considered.
